Mehran Fida: The Man Behind Vozax

For the past few months, Vozax has been the newest local sensation. Mehran Fida is the man behind it. Who is Mehran Fida? How did he come up with Vozax? Discover the person with his first ever interview, exclusively published by Clique.

CLQ: Who is Mehran Fida and from Where?

MF: I am from Nandla, district Multan. I am a Web Developer and recently I have taken my B.C.S exams.

CLQ: What is Vozax?

MF: Vozax is a portal with facilities that are being provided by a Pakistani host, for the first time. Vozax provides services like Photo Sharing, Blog Hosting, Music and Video Streaming, For-Ex Updates, Urdu Web Search, Games, Forums, Online TV, etc. Recently we have launched Vozax Articles. Especially for the writers who want a proper platform for their work to be published and get feedback (with 2000+ unique visitors, everyday). The best part is that all these services are for free.  

CLQ: How did you come up with the idea of Vozax?

MF: Whenever I used to look at Google or Yahoo, I used to think that why can’t a Pakistani do something like that? So I thought of bringing these services from Pakistan, instead of the west. Another reason was that I wanted to promote Urdu through it. Third and the foremost reason was that most of the IT Giants are either Zionist or Capitalist.  The profit they gain from these projects is directly or indirectly being used against us Muslims. So I wanted my people to utilize these services from a Host who is one of them.

CLQ: How many Awards have you achieved yet?

MF: Yet Vozax has been nominated and won 2 awards, 1^st from the “Central College” and 2^nd from “Pakistan Web Awards”. Actually there hasn’t been much publicity. It’s only 5 months old. In future I hope to win more.

CLQ: Did you get any appreciation from the government level?

MF: No there hasn’t been any appreciation (Probably because of the lack of promotion). Although the services provided here are for the 1^st time, developed locally. You may find some similar services but they all are, rental based.

CLQ: Do you believe in having support from the government? If yes, then of what sort are you looking for?

MF: Of course! There should be an appreciation from the government because the services that I am providing are being given for the 1^st time. I don’t want any sort of financial relief because I am sure that Vozax can do well on its own. I just want them to recognize my work.

CLQ: how many people are working beside you on this project?

MF: I am the only person running this project. It took me 2 years to come with it. At that time I was studying F.Sc. I must say that my family supported me throughout the project.  

CLQ: what’s the main source of income of Vozax?
MF: They services that people used to get from foreign websites (and benefiting them) are now being delivered locally. The revenue from the ads that we get from the foreign market is benefiting Pakistan in shape of foreign exchange. If Google can provide USA, huge revenue of $29,321,000per year, then why not Vozax do the same favor to Pakistan?

CLQ: Response till now…?
MF: The response so far has been good. People are beginning to like it. You can check the rating at alexa.com .  Within 5 months it has gone from billionth to millionth.

CLQ: Future Projects?
MF: My future plans are to launch "Vozax Video" (Video Sharing) and a Web Search engine. But due to financial problems it will take some time to launch it. A lot of work has been done on Vozax Video.

CLQ: What’s the best in Social Media? And how did it help you?

MF: Facebook is the best in social media. I have been able to gain most of my audience through it.

CLQ: What is your opinion about Clique?

MF: Clique is an excellent infotainment portal. We need such informative services to pace up with the modern world.  

CLQ: Any message to the new generation?

MF: My only message to the new generation is that “We should work hard and stand on our own feet else others will keep on gaining advantage of us”.
